Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to grant permission to the petitioner's association for conducting 'Cock Fight' near Sivaji Ganesan Farm in Surakottai on 11.03.2017 and 12.03.2017 in eve of Ayyanar Temple Festival.

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting cock fight in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that on 07.02.2017 a representation has been given to the respondents, but the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

Police Station, Thanjavur District is directed to look into the representation dated 07.02.2017 alleged to have been given by the petitioner and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
