O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.07.2016 seeking to provide adequate police protection to him and his family members and blood relatives to participate in the Aadi 18 Festival of Arulmigu Sri Maduraiveeran Thirukkovil Temple, scheduled to be held on 26.07.2016 to 02.08.2016 situated at Periyakulam (keelavadakarai) at Theni District. 2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. In view of the limited relief sought for, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.

3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that due to family dispute, the third respondent herein prevented the petitioner and his family members from entering into Arulmigu Sri Maduraiveeran Temple and also gave life threat to them, and as the petitioner has to conduct rituals during Aadi festival, apprehending danger, the petitioner has given a representation to the second respondent on 27.07.2016 seeking police protection for participating in the said festival, however, the same was not considered by the second respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, gave an undertaking that the second respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law.

6.In view of the above submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith, as the festival has already been commenced from 26.07.2016.
