ORDER

The petitioner seeks the disposal of proceedings pending before the first respondent in relation to the request for rectification of alleged discrepancies in the UDR records.

2. The petitioner states that the land bearing survey No.12/1B at Puliyankulam Village, Madurai South Taluk, is his ancestral property. The settlement patta in the name of his father K.Rajendran is cited in support of this submission. It is alleged that the patta in respect of such property was erroneously changed to the name of the third respondent herein during the transition to the UDR Scheme.

3. The petitioner states that an application was submitted to rectify the aforesaid discrepancies on 13.02.2018. In spite of the lapse of about three years, it is stated that no action has been https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

4. Mr.K.S.Selvaganesan, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2. He submits that the first respondent may be directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application in accordance with law and on merits.

5. In view of the limited scope of the present petition, is not necessary to enter findings on the merits thereof. Therefore, notice to the private respondents herein is dispensed with.

6. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent herein is directed to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2018 by a reasoned order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, respondents 4 and 5 herein, and any other person who would be affected by such proceedings. Such reasoned order shall be issued within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. W.P.(MD).No.16002 of 2021 is disposed of on these terms without any order as to costs.
