Mr.R.Ganesh Kumar, the learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the first respondent and Mr.K.Sanjai Gandhi, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), takes notice for the second respondent.

2. The relief sought in this Writ Petition for a direction to the first respondent to issue a passport to the petitioner pursuant to his application dated 25.11.2024 cannot be considered at this stage, in view of the fact that the petitioner has been arrayed as A7 in Crime No.172 of 2023 on the file of the second respondent-Police, for offences punishable under Sections 341, 294(b), 323, 324, 355, 506(2) and 506(1) of the IPC.

3. It is submitted by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent-Police that the charge sheet has also been filed, and the case has been taken on file by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Singampunari, Sivagangai District, in C.C. No.59 of 2025.

4. Under these circumstances, it is open to the petitioner to approach the Magistrate Court for appropriate relief to facilitate the issuance of the passport.

5. With the above liberty, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
