Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to grant permission and protection for cultural event namely Adalpadal scheduled to be held on 27.02.2017 at night in connection with Masi Festival in Arulmigu Sri Vempadi Karuppasamy Kovil at Veerapatti Village, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2017. For Petitioner : Mr.S.Sivaprakash For Respondents : Mr.D.Muruganandam, Additional Government Pleader.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting programme of Adalpadal in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that the petitioner has given a representation on 27.01.2017, but the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Nagaiahpuram Police Station, Madurai District is directed to look into the representation dated 27.01.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
