ORDER

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to change the petitioner's son's name 1/4

as "I.Jivin" instead of "Thavaruban" in his birth certificate, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2022.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that initially the petitioner named his son as Thavaruban. Later he changed the same into I.Jivin. Hence, the petitioner approached the respondents to change the same in the birth certificate of the petitioner's son. Since the same has not been considered, the petitioner made a representation to the first respondent on 02.05.2022. But no action has been taken on the same. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2022, seeking correction the name of the petitioner's son, is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner.

4. Considering the above, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of four [4] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
