PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant 21 days ordinary leave without escort to the petitioner's husband namely Prakash, S/o.Chellamuthu, a life convict prisoner (CP No.5831) now confined at Central Prison, Madurai to attend his ailing mother by considering the petitioner's representation dated 13.05.2025. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) Prayer in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to grant 21 days ordinary leave without escort to the petitioner's husband namely Prakash, S/o.Chellamuthu, a life convict prisoner (CP No.5831) now confined at Central Prison, Madurai.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.A.Thiruvadi Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 13.05.2025 seeking 21 days ordinary leave to her husband/ convict has been rejected by the second respondent vide proceedings dated 12.06.2025 and to that effect, he has also produced a copy of the proceedings dated 12.06.2025 before this Court.

3. In view of the above submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this writ petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the proceedings of the second respondent dated 12.06.2025 in the manner known to law, if so desired.
