This writ petition is filed for a mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to remove the lock put up by the fourth 2/5
respondent in the outer gate of Arulmighu Sri Ayyanar Temple, Idayathi Mangalam Village, Manamelkudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District.
2.Today(03.01.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, which he has received from the Inspector, HR & CE Department submits that there was a dispute between two groups with regard to the poojariship of the subject temple and therefore, the outer gate of the temple was locked by the police in order to prevent further law and order problem. Subsequent to filing of this writ petition, the lock was opened on 22.06.2023 and both the rival parties were directed to work out their remedy before the appropriate civil Court.
3.Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioners that only to remove the lock put up in the temple, the submission of the learned Special Government Pleader is recorded 3/5
and this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
