Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to give permission and sufficient police protection to conduct Jallikattu to be held on 22.02.2017 at Vendhanpatti Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 13.02.2017.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission for conducting Jallikattu in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

representation has been given by the petitioner, but the same has not been considered. Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order.

4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the first respondent viz., District Collector, Pudukkottai District is directed to look into the representation dated 13.02.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
