ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate,Vedachendur,Dindigul District to expedite the case in CC.No.141 of 2019 pending on his file and dispose of the same within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the third accused in CC No.141 of 2019. The petitioner along with other accused persons were prosecuted for the offences under Sections 147,148,294(b),452,324,427 and 506(i) of IPC by the respondent police and it is pending from the year 2019 without any progress, hence seeks direction to expedite the trial.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the case is posted for cross examination of witnesses to 30.08.2022.

From the perusal of the records, it is seen that the petitioner along with other accused persons were prosecuted for the offences under Sections 147,148,294(b),452,324,427 and 506(i) of IPC by the respondent police and the case was taken cognizance in CC No.141 of 2019 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate,Vedachendur,Dindigul District. The trial Court framed charges and since the accused denied charges directed for trial and summons were ordered and the case stands posted to 11.03.2020 for examination of LW.1 to LW.3, thereafter no witnesses have been examined and the case is adjourned periodically and now posted to 30.08.2022 for cross examination of LW.1 to LW.3

5. In view of the same, the learned Judicial Magistrate, Vedachendur, Dindigul District is directed to expedite the trial in CC. No.141 of 2019 and dispose of the same within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
