Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide electricity power supply to the petitioner's newly built house facing south in Survey No.60/26 over an extent of 5 cents of land south of our ancestral tiled house at Silattoor Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is as follows:- "to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to provide electricity power supply to the petitioner's newly built house facing south in Survey No.60/26 over an extent of 5 cents of land south of our ancestral tiled house at Silattoor Village, Aranthangi Taluk, Pudukkottai District."

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is informed by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 that as on date, no application has been submitted by the petitioner for providing electricity service connection to the premises under the occupation of the petitioner.

3.However, at this, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that already an application was submitted by the petitioner. Nevertheless, he would submit one more application to the authority concerned and on such application being submitted, the respondents 1 and 2 may be directed to take decision in response to the said application and provide electricity service connection to the premises under the occupation of the petitioner in terms of their policy and regulations.

4.Therefore, the petitioner is directed to submit an application to the respondents 1 and 2, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such application being submitted, the respondent electricity board is directed to pass orders on the application in terms of the regulations, within a period of two weeks, thereafter. 5.With the above directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
