O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to provide necessary police protection to the petitioners' life and limb, and for the peaceful living in their home by considering the first petitioner's representation dated 14.10.2020.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the fourth respondent is the sister of the petitioners herein. 1/3

Respondents 7 to 9 are hooligans of the fourth respondent. Due to the civil dispute between the petitioners' family and the fourth respondent, respondents 4 to 9 trespassed into the petitioners' house and attacked the petitioners and their family members. Hence, the first petitioner made a representation dated 14.10.2020 before the respondent police for police protection. But, so far no action has been taken by the respondent police. Hence, the petitioners are before this Court.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that the complaint of the first petitioner, dated 14.10.2020, has been received by the respondent police and based on which, enquiry has been initiated in CSR.No.204 of 2020 and it is pending.

4.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 to 3.

5.Considering the submission made on either side, the respondents 1 to 3 are directed to consider the representation of the first petitioner, dated 14.10.2020 and give police protection to the petitioners, if necessary. If it is found that police protection is not necessary, the same shall be communicated to the petitioners so that they can work out their rights in the manner known to law. 6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
