ORDER
The present Writ Petition is filed for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant permission and to provide police protection to conduct the Aadalum Paadalum dance programme on 10.05.2026 from 07.00 p.m to 11.00 p.m in pursuant to the 70th year Chithirai Urchava Thiruvizha of Arulmigu Selvamuthu Mariamman Thirukoil, situated at Mill Colony, Ramji Nagar, Tiruchirappalli City, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2026.
2. Mr.A.S.Abul Kalaam Azad, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice for R2 and R3 and Mr.B.Ramanathan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for R1.
3. By consent on either sides, this Writ Petition Criminal is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5
4. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the petitioner is seeking to conduct the Adal Padal programme beyond 10.00 p.m. Hence, the respondents have not granted permission for the same.
5. In view of the same, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2026 forthwith and grant permission subject to all necessary conditions and also restricting the time frame from 7.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. The petitioner shall also submit an undertaking affidavit before the third respondent stating that no obscenity will be exhibited and that no obscene songs will be performed.
