This Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to process the petitioner's application dated 10.02.2016 and direct the fourth respondent to recommend the name of the petitioner as indigent artist in accordance with the Schemes of Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Mandram and law.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has performed village folk dance for the past 23 years. The Village Folk Arts Welfare Association, Chinnamanur, Theni District had given appreciation. Further, the Government of Tamil Nadu had issued an identity card to the petitioner and defined him as Krishnan Dance Artist. The Government of Tamil Nadu proclaimed monthly financial assistance for the indigent artist. Hence, the petitioner has approached the second respondent along with several documents. The petitioner's application was duly authorised by the fifth and sixth respondents in the year 2016 and the same was forwarded to the fourth respondent for approval. Thereafter, no progress in the petitioner's application. The Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram under the aegis of Government of Tamil Nadu had formulated schemes for granting financial assistance to indigent artist. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice to issue direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application, dated 10.02.2016. 3/6
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

In the light of the submissions made by the learned counsel, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 10.02.2016 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
