ORDER

The present Writ Petition is filed for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission and police protection to conduct the Gramiyakalainikalchi Adal Padal Program on 22.05.2026 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in connection with, Urchava Thirvizha, the festival of Arulmighu Sri Madakottai Muneeswarar Temple situated at Madakottai, Ilaiyangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2026.

2. Mr.A.S.Abul Kalaam Azad, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice for R1 to R3 and Mr.B.Ramanathan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for R4.

3. By consent on either sides, this Writ Petition Criminal is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2026 is yet to be considered by the third respondent.

5. Hence, the third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2026 forthwith and grant permission subject to all necessary conditions and also restricting the time frame from 7.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. The petitioner shall also submit an undertaking affidavit before the third respondent stating that no obscenity will be exhibited and that no obscene songs will be performed.
