ORDER
The petitioner with an allegation that the second respondent police is harassing her under the guise of an enquiry has approached this Court. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the official respondents submits that the petitioner herein is aged about 21 years and working as a Nurse in a Hospital at Thuvarankurichi, Tirchy District. The petitioner's mother has lodged a complaint stating that her daughter is missing. Based on the complaint, a case in Cr.No.55 of 2024 has been registered for "Woman Missing". Therefore, the respondent Police enquired the petitioner and she has given a statement that on her own volition, she left from home. The petitioner was not harassed. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner's mother compelled the petitioner to marry her maternal uncle, but she is not willing to marry him and therefore, she left the parental home.
4.This Court considered the rival submissions made on either side and perused the materials available in the record. 2/4
5.Admittedly, the petitioner is aged about 21 years and working as a Nurse. A statement has also been given by the petitioner that she left her home on her own volition. Therefore, the second respondent Police is directed to close the case in Cr.No.55 of 2024 by recording the statement of the petitioner, if it is not closed. The second respondent Police shall not harass the petitioner. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is closed.
