Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Mandamus forbearing the respondents 2 to 5 from erecting high tension electricity lines and supply high voltage electricity in the residential area in survey no.435/2B, 436/2H ad 436/3 in Porundhalur Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District and pass such further or other orders as this Honble court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of this case and thus render justice. ORDER

The above writ petition has been filed for the following relief:- "Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Mandamus forbearing the respondents 2 to 5 from erecting high tension electricity lines and supply high voltage electricity in the residential area in survey no. 435/2B, 436/2H ad 436/3 in Porundhalur Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District and pass such further or other orders as this Honble court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of this case and thus render justice."

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel appearing for the 7th respondent has filed an affidavit, wherein it has been stated as follows:- "5. I submit that, I undertake on behalf of my company that: (a)The construction activities will not endanger or affect the life, property, or livelihood of he petitioners or the public; (b)We undertake to add a protective cover over the existing condutor on the side passing adjacent to the petitioners plot boundaries in the layout;

(c) The line will be energized only after inspection and approval by the competent authority from TNGECL; (d)The company will coordinate with the TANGEDCO/TNGECL officials throught the process to ensure full compliance;

(e) This undertaking is given voluntarily and in good faith to assure this Hon'ble Court that the interests of the petitioners and all residents will be protected. We are committed to completing the project lawfully, safely and transparently." 4/6

3. On the basis of the above undertaking, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents 2 to 5 to ensure that the electricity lines do not enter into the petitioner's property. The affidavit filed by the 7th respondent will be treated as part and parcel of this order.
