Mr.M.Rajarajan, Government Advocate, accepts notice for the respondents. By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.The prayer in the writ petition is for a Mandamus directing
the 2nd respondent to appoint the petitioner on promotion / transfer from the service of the 5th respondent herein pursuant to the representation dated 27.01.2017 in the light of G.O.Ms.No.150 dated 19.08.1998 on the file of the 1st respondent herein. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that with regard to his grievance of getting promotion, he had given a representation dated 27.01.2017 to the third respondent, wherein, he sought for consideration of his grievance for getting promotion in the light of G.O.Ms.No.150 dated 19.08.1998, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department. He further submits that if the said representation is directed to be considered by this Court within a time frame stipulated, the petitioner would be satisfied.
4.Heard the learned Government Advocate in this regard. 5.In view of the said submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation given by the petitioner on 27.01.2017 and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law, especially, in the light of the Government order in G.O.Ms.No.150 Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department dated 19.08.1998 and pass orders thereon within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
