COMMON ORDER The petitioners are Assistant Professors working in Urumu Dhanalakshmi College and are members of the Association of University Teachers. The impugned charge memos were issued alleging that the petitioners entered the Principal's room without prior permission, obstructed the fourth respondent from discharging his official duties, and wasted his official time. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petitions have been filed.
2.Learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners had sought a meeting with the fourth respondent to discuss student admissions in the respondent college in accordance with the guidelines issued by the State Government in G.O.(D) No.161, Higher Education (G1) Department, dated 14.06.2022, and that prior permission had been duly obtained. Hence, the allegations contained in the charge memos are unfounded and unsustainable.

3.Heard the learned Additional Government Pleader and the learned Senior Counsel appearing for the respondents. 4.With the consent of both parties, this Court mediated the issue, pursuant to which the respondents agreed to withdraw the impugned charge memos issued against the petitioners. Even otherwise, on a consideration of the merits, this Court finds that the allegations contained in the charge memos are vague in nature and do not warrant disciplinary action.
In view of the above development, the writ petitions are allowed and the impugned charge memos dated 08.10.2022 are quashed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. NCC : Yes / No 15.12.2025 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No gk 4/6
