Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant necessary permission and protection for the conduct of Bullock Cart Race and Horse Cart Race in connection with Pongal Festival to be held on 26.02.2017 at Peravurani Village, Peravurani Post and Taluk, Thanjavur District. For Petitioner : Mr.P.Ganapathi Subramanian For Respondents : Mr.D.Muruganandam, Additional Government Pleader.

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to give necessary permission and police protection for conducting Bullock Cart Race and Horse Cart Race in the place mentioned in the petition, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.
3.It is seen from the records that on 15.02.2017 and 22.02.2017 two representations have been given by the petitioner, but the same have not been considered.
Under the said circumstances, this Court is inclined to pass the following order. 4.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the third respondent is directed to look into the representations alleged to have been given by the petitioner and dispose of the same within a period of two days.
