ORDER

The present Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission for conducting a cultural festival with a musical band and to provide adequate protection for the "St. Xavier Church" Chariot Festival at Ammanpettai Village, Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur District, from 15.05.2026 to 17.05.2026, by considering the petitioner's representations dated 21.04.2026 and 22.04.2026.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that the petitioner has not submitted any petition seeking permission regarding cultural festival.

3. However, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner vehemently objected to the same and submitted that the petitioner had submitted the said application in person, prior to the election.

4. However, the respondents are not having a copy of the letter as of now. Therefore, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation forthwith, which shall, in turn, be considered by the respondents in accordance with law. 2/4

5. With this direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 07.05.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Indu Note: Issue order copy on 08.05.2026.
