Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation submitted in person on 22.07.2016 within a time frame.

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.07.2016.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that regarding the right of receiving honour in the temple festival to be celebrated on 07.08.2016 to 19.08.2016, there is a dispute between the petitioner and one Mr.R.Mookandi, and hence, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

apprehending danger, the petitioner had given a representation to the second respondent on 22.07.2016 seeking police protection, however, the same was not considered by the second respondent so far and hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that last year, a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted by enquiring both sides and it was finally decided to celebrate the function. However, he gave an undertaking that the second respondent would consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. 6.Mr.S.Gopala Manikandan, learned counsel representing Mr.Mookkandi would submit that Mr.Mookkandi also may be directed to be heard by the second respondent Police before taking decision on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.07.2016. 7.In view of the above submission made by the learned counsel for both sides, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.07.2016 and after hearing the petitioner, Mr.Mookkandi and other interested parties (if any), pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law forthwith, as the festival is scheduled to be commenced from 07.08.2016.

8. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
