ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to rectify the error in the patta issued to the petitioner with respect to the extent of the property, by considering the petitioner's final representation dated 23.01.2023.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has been in possession and enjoyment of 83 square metres of land in Survey No.1614/16, situated in Aathur Village, Dindigul District. The second respondent issued the patta in the petitioner's name, in which the total extent was mistakenly mentioned as 27 square metres instead of 83 square metres. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation on 23.01.2023 before the first respondent seeking rectification of the revenue records. However, the same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader, who appeared on behalf of the respondents, would submit that the competent authority to consider the request made by the petitioner is the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer, however, he has not been impleaded in the present Writ Petition. 2/4
4. In view the above, without expressing any opinion of the merits of the matter, the first responder is directed to forward the petitioner's representation, dated 23.01.2023 to the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer, Dindigul, within a period of three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Dindigul, shall consider the said representation and pass final orders on its own merits within a further period of twelve (12) weeks thereafter, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
