ORDER

The present Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Certiorarified Mandamus to quash the impugned rejection order, dated 30.04.2026 and to grant permission and protection for conducting an Aadal Paadal program scheduled to be held on 08.05.2026 from 6.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m., in connection with the Thiruvizha of Arulmigu Sri Pathirakaliamman Thirukovil at Konampatti Village, Sattur Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), on instructions, submitted that in the previous year, there was a dispute between two groups while conducting Aadal Paadal program, for which, an FIR was also registered.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, however, submitted that he would give an undertaking to the respondents that the said festival would be conducted without any issues and law and order problems. 2/5

4. Recording the above submissions, the petitioner is directed to submit an affidavit to the respondents, which, in turn, shall be considered by the respondents. Therefore, the impugned order, dated 30.04.2026, is quashed. The respondents are directed to grant permission to the petitioner with all applicable conditions. The petitioner will be made liable for any violation of the conditions.

5. This Writ Petition is allowed in the above terms. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. No costs. 07.05.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Indu Note: Issue order copy on 08.05.2026.
