[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] This writ petition is filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 6 to curtail and take action upon the respondents 7 to 9 for performing illegal mining of sand at Vaipparu River, from Irukkankudi Dam, Virudhunagar District to Keelnadukurichi Village, Tuticorin District for a distance of 10 kilometers and at Kovilaru, Kuthur Kanmai, Mullaikodi Kanmai at Chokkanamputhur Village, Rajapalayam Taluk coming under the ambit of the respondents 1 to 6.
2. The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 would submit that the river sand mining operations are stopped and the authorities are monitoring the illegal sand mining.

3. In the event of any complaint / information regarding the illegal mining, the authorities are bound to initiate appropriate action and prosecute the offenders.
4. With the above observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
