ORDER

The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondent to settle interest for the belated payment of gratuity from the date of the petitioner's retirement to till the date on which the said benefits were settled to him.

2. Mr.K.Sathiyasingh, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondent.

3. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioner is disposed of, on merits and in accordance with https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. In view of the limited scope of the prayer, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the issue involved, the respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 08.06.2016 on merits and in accordance with law, after giving notice to the interested parties, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
