O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to re-issue a passport to the petitioner, based on her application bearing Reference No.MD1076260494124 dated 14.02.2024, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner has filed an application for renewal of his passport. However, the same has not been processed till date. It is submitted that the petitioner has also sent a representation/reminder in this regard, which has not evoked any response. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no criminal case is pending against the petitioner.

3. The learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent is unable to confirm whether any criminal case is pending against the petitioner or not.

4. Considering the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent to process the petitioner's application bearing Reference No.MD1076260494124 dated 14.02.2024, strictly in accordance with the Page No. 2 of 4

provisions of the Passports Act, 1967, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
