Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first and second respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2017 and consequently to direct the respondents to give adequate police protection to conduct the yearly worship at St.Antoniyar Shrine, Samimuthanpatti, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District as per the schedule dated 16.01.2017, 17.01.2017 and 18.01.2017. ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give police protection for conducting yearly worship in the temple mentioned in the petition on the basis of representation dated 02.01.2017, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.It is averred in the petition that the petitioner is a resident of Samimuthanpatti, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District. Further it is averred in the petition that there is an yearly https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

festival in the temple mentioned in the petition to be held on 16.01.2017, 17.01.2017 and 18.01.2017 and for the purpose of giving police protection a representation has been given on 02.01.2017 and the same has not been considered and therefore the present writ petition has been filed for getting the relief sought therein.

3.Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

4.Considering the fact that a representation has been given on 02.01.2017, this Court is inclined to pass the following order. 5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, Eriyodu Police Station, Dindigul District is directed to look into the representation dated 02.01.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of one week.
