Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to grant license to the petitioner for storing and transporting of sand in Survey No.596/17 in Veeyannur Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District based on the representation of the petitioner dated 30.01.2017 within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court.

The Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant license to the petitioner for storing and transporting of sand in Survey No.596/17 in Veeyannur Village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District, based on the representation of the petitioner, dated 30.01.2017.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents produced the letter received from the District Collector, Kanyakumari, stating that as per the Press Release dated 05.05.2017, there is no provision for grant of license for private sand stockyard throughout the State of Tamil Nadu and if any license is being https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

granted to private stockyard, the name of the petitioner will also be considered.
