Mohamed Ali, aged 20 years before this Court, illegally detained by the third respondent and set her at liberty forthwith.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed for a direction to the first and second respondents to produce the body or person of the detenue, who is the daughter of the petitioner and to set her at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the detenue is his younger daughter. All of a sudden, she went missing on 06.05.2026 and in spite of the best efforts, the whereabouts of the detenue was not able to be ascertained. Hence, a complaint was given before the second respondent, based on which, a woman missing FIR came to be registered in Crime No.222 of 2026. Since no effective steps were taken to find the whereabouts of the detenue and the petitioner suspected that the detenue is in the illegal custody of the third respondent, the present petition has been filed before this Court.

4. The learned counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) on instructions submitted that the detenue got married to the third respondent and they are presently residing at Kaveripattinam, Krishnagiri District. In fact, they have also given a complaint before the Kaveripattinam Police Station seeking for police protection and the same is pending. The relevant records were also placed before this Court.

5. On carefully going through the complaint given by the detenue, it is seen that she wants to continue to live with the third respondent and she is not interested to go along with the petitioner.

6. In the light of the above development, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition.
