.. Respondents Prayer :Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the body or person of the detenu, namely, Vinu son of Murugan, male, aged about 29 years before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to produce the body or person of the detenu, who is the petitioner's husband and to set him at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The petitioner is the father of the detenu. The detenu had some mental health issues and all of a sudden, on 05.04.2026, he went missing. In spite of the best efforts, his whereabouts were not able to be ascertained. A complaint was given before the second respondent on 09.04.2026, based on which, a man missing FIR was registered in Crime No.81 of 2026. Since no effective steps were taken by the respondent Police to find the whereabouts of the detenu, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

4. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to follow the guidelines issued by this Court in the case of K. Sukumari Vs. The Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District, Virudhunagar, reported in 2018(2) -L.W. (Crl) -636 and proceed with the case and find the whereabouts of the detenu as expeditiously as possible.
