Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondent to speedy disposal of petitioner's petition, dated 12.05.2025, to cancel the patta at survey No.234/12, Thottamangalam Revenue Village, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, pending before the respondent. ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to dispose of his representation, dated 12.05.2025, seeking cancellation of patta in respect of the property situated in Survey No.234/12, Thottamangalam Revenue Village, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District.
2. Heard Mr.B.Mahendra Rajan, learned counsel for the petitioner; and Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader, for the respondents. With the consent of both the counsel, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.
3. According to the petitioner, the subject property belongs to his father and patta for the said property has been wrongly issued in the name of one Kumutha, wife of Mani. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an application before the first respondent on 28.04.2025 vide grievance cell application No.
185. The said application was forwarded to the second respondent for action. Thereafter, there was no action. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.
4. Learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the application of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law.
5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the
application submitted by the petitioner, dated 28.04.2025 (wrongly mentioned as 12.05.2025 in the writ prayer) and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner, one Kumutha, mentioned in the representation, and other interested parties.
6. Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. 13.06.2025 NCC :
