ORDER

Mr.C.Kannan, has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police on par with his juniors who were promoted vide G.O.Ms.No.598 Home (Police II) Department dated 02.07.2010 with all attendant benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the disciplinary proceedings in P.R.No.28 of 2009, the action was dropped by the disciplinary authority, namely, Director Inspector General of Police, Trichy Range, by his proceedings No.B1/22/2010, dated 11.06.2010. Therefore, the petitioner should have been considered for promotion to the post of the Deputy Superintendent https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of Police on par with his juniors. However, it has not been done so. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court for the relief stated supra.

Mrs.S.Bharathi, learned Additional Government Pleader was put on notice for the respondents.

In view of the limited prayer, this Court, without going into the claim of the petitioner, whatsoever, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.07.2016, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not touched upon the merits of the matter. 5.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
