ORDER

The Petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the Petitioner's appeal dated 23.11.2016 for providing information copies in the light of proceeding passed by the second respondent in O.Mu.Ka.No.1/52500/16, dated 3.1.2017 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.According to the Petitioner, he had sought some information from the second respondent. According to the communication, dated 3.1.2017 issued by the second respondent/District Collector, Triunelveli, necessary fee for searching of the information asked for by the Petitioner had to be paid and only thereafter, his request will be considered for furnishing information as sought for by him. According to the learned counsel for the Petitioner, the required fees has already been paid on 20.1.2017. 4.In view of the submissions made by both the parties, the Second Respondent is directed to take a decision on the representation of the Petitioner 17.11.2016 submitted in this regard, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The said decision is to be taken on merits and in accordance with law and the same shall be communicated to the Petitioner forthwith.

5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
