PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the entire record pertaining to the impugned order passed by the fifth respondent in proceedings No. 258/AFRRO/TVM/AP/2019 dated.10.05.2019 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to return the petitioner's passport bearing No.M3176236 to the petitioner within the time stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner's application for renewal of his passport was considered by the passport authorities and his passport was renewed on 27.10.2014 and the same is valid upto 26.10.2024. On 10.05.2019, the petitioner's passport was seized by the Assistant Foreigner Regional Registration Officer, Tiruvendrum and the petitioner was directed to approach the Regional Passport Officer, Madurai and to submit his explanation. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court in the year 2019.
2.Today (19.01.2024), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel on either side submit that the passport of the petitioner was already handed over to him. 3/6
