PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records of the order passed by the 2nd respondent in No.1319/Tha.Ku.2/2026 dated 04.05.2026 and quash the same and consequently directing the respondents 1 and 3 to grant 15 days emergency leave to the petitioner's son namely Kamarajperumal, S/o.Ramapandi (PID No.279434) without escort now confined under Central Prison, Madurai.

[Order of the Court was made by G.K.ILANTHIRAIYAN, J.] The prayer in the petition is to quash the impugned order passed by the second respondent in No.1319/Tha.Ku.2/2026 dated 04.05.2026 and direct the respondents 1 and 3 to grant 15 days emergency leave to the petitioner's son namely Kamarajperumal, S/o.Ramapandi (PID No.279434) without escort now confined under Central Prison, Madurai.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that his son was convicted by the Special Court (POCSO Act Cases, Virudhunagar) at Srivilliputhur in Spl.S.C.No.76 of 2020 and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment for the offence under Sections 5(m)(n)(l) r/w.6 of POCSO Act. Aggrieved over the
same, the convict has preferred an appeal before the High Court and the same was dismissed. While being so, the petitioner applied for emergency leave for convict to attend his daughter's engagement, however it was rejected on the ground that the petitioner has not stated any valid grounds for emergency leave, therefore this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the second respondent.
