ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.06.2020, with regard to the release of pensionary and other monetary benefits by computing the service rendered from 25.10.1996 to till the date of retirement i.e., on 31.05.2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4. The case of the petitioner is that initially he was appointed as part time clerk by the President of Sirkazhi Panchayat and thereafter, his service was regularised in the post of Junior Assistant on 04.03.2014 and he was retired from service on attaining https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.16073 of 2020 the age of superannuation on 31.05.2016. Seeking pensionary and other monetary benefits, the petitioner sent a representation dated 06.06.2020 to the respondents. Since no action has been taken by the respondents so far, the petitioner is constrained to move the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.06.2020 would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

6. Considering the nature of the relief as sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.06.2020 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
