Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to perform the cultural events on 14.01.2017 and 15.01.2017 at Alauranikarai, A.Kalappur, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District and to provide adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.01.2017.

[Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to direct the respondents to grant permission to perform cultural events on 14.01.2017 and 15.01.2017 in Alauranikarai, A.Kalappur, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District, by way of issuing a writ of mandamus. 2.Mr.M.Govindan, learned Special Government Pleader, has taken notice for the respondents.

3.It is seen from the records that on 02.01.2017 a representation has been given to the respondents. But the same has not been considered.

4.Considering the fact that a representation has been given on 02.01.2017, the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, S.V.Mangalam Police Station, Sivagangai District can be directed to dispose of the representation as indicated below. 5.In fine, this writ petition is allowed in part without costs and the second respondent viz., Inspector of Police, S.V.Mangalam Police Station, Sivagangai District is directed to look into the representation dated 02.01.2017 and dispose of the same within a period of one week.
