O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents, particularly, the second Respondent to consider the Petitioner's representation, dated 23.02.2017, having been submitted for the renewal of existing lease in respect of Shop Nos.1 and 2, at Valliyoor Bus Stand belonging to the Special Grade Town Panchayat forthwith on merits and in accordance with law and dispose of the same within the stipulated time.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and learned Government Advocate appearing for the second respondent.

3.Mr.A.Muthukaruppan,learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice for the first respondent and Mr.V.Pandi, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the second respondent. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Though the Writ petitioner has come with the prayer seeking a positive direction, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.02.2017, on merits within a time stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:- "The respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.02.2017, and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
