O R D E R

This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to return the original driving license bearing DL No.TN/28 19990003615 to the petitioner herein within the stipulated time.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3. Mr.J.Gunaseelan Muthaiah, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

Though the Writ petitioner has come with the prayer seeking a positive direction to the second respondent, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.01.2017, on merits within a time stipulated by this Court.

5. Having regard to the nature of the case and submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a following direction:- "Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.01.2017, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."

6. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
