For Petitioner : Mr.AL.Kannan in both petitions. For Respondents : Mr.K.Mahesh Raja, Government Advocate, in both petitions.

*** C O M M O N O R D E R These Writ petitions have been filed by the petitioners for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to include the name of the petitioners in the list of beneficiaries of drought relief on par with other similarly placed persons by considering the petitioners' representations, dated 0203.2017, within the time limit fixed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3.Mr.K.Mahesh Raja, learned Government Advocate, takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court is inclined to issue a following direction:- "The respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 02.03.2017, and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
