ORDER
(This writ petition is heard through video conference) This writ petition has been filed for a mandamus seeking for a direction to the first respondent to sanction financial assistance to the petitioner under the Dr.Dharmambal Ammaiyar Widow Remarriage Financial Assistance Scheme, based on the petitioner's representation dated 04.11.2019.
2.Heard Mr.D.Shanmuganathan, learned counsel for the petitioner and MrC.Ramesh, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

3.By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.
4.It is the case of the petitioner that she was married to Mr.Kumar Karuppiah, British National, in India on 03.10.2013. According to her, Mr.KumarKaruppiah, died in London on 05.10.2015. Thereafter, she married Mr.S.Senthamil Selvan, on 01.09.2019. According to her, she is eligible to get financial assistance under the Dr.Dharmambal Ammaiyar Widow Remarriage Financial Assistance Scheme, introduced by the Government of Tamilnadu. It is her case, that she submitted an application on 04.11.2019, seeking for financial assistance under the aforementioned scheme. It is her case that till date, her application has not been considered by the first respondent. In such circumstances, this writ petition has been filed.
5.The relief sought for by the petitioner is an innocuous relief. She claims that she is entitled to get financial assistance under the Dr.Dharmambal Ammaiyar Widow Remarriage Financial Assistance Scheme, introduced by the Government of Tamilnadu. She has submitted an application on 04.11.2019, with the first respondent, seeking for financial assistance under the aforementioned scheme. Admittedly, the said application has not been considered by the first respondent till date. 6.For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 04.11.2020, seeking for financial assistance under the Dr.Dharmambal Ammaiyar Widow Remarriage Financial Assistance Scheme and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7.With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
