ORDER

The petitioner has filed this petition to quash the FIR in Crime No. 191 of 2022 registered against him, on the file of the first respondent Police, for the offences under Sections 153(A), 294(b), 295A, 298, 504, 505(2) of IPC and Section 66A(b) of the Information Technology Act 2000.

2. When this petition is taken up for hearing, Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the investigation in Crime No.191 of 2022 was completed and the final report has also been filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Nagercoil, through e-filing in No.CC/7200/23, on 15.05.2023.

Since it is reported that the final report was also filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Nagercoil, through e-filing on 15.05.2023, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition filed to quash the FIR in Crime No.191 of 2022. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.

4. It is very unfortunate that the final report which was filed on 15.05.2023 is not yet taken on file. The respondent Police claims that the final report is yet to be taken on file. Therefore, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Nagercoil, is directed to take the final report without any delay, if it is otherwise in order. The respondent Police, who filed the final report, is also having the responsibility to ensure that the final report is taken on file within a reasonable time. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
