ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and effect the transfer of the petitioner from the Pudukkottai District Revenue Unit to the Madurai District Revenue Unit.

2. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioner, she was appointed as a Village Administrative Officer through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission in the year 2017 and is presently serving as Revenue Inspector at Ponnamaravathi, Pudukkottai District. She has maintained an unblemished service record over the past eight years in the Revenue Department and has been working at her current post since 18.07.2018 without any allegations or disciplinary proceedings.

Further, according to the petitioner, she is the sole caregiver for her family, which includes her two daughters and her husband, aged 53, who is suffering from cardiac issues and recently sustained serious injuries in a road accident on 22.04.2025, leaving him unable to walk without support. Her elder

daughter is pursuing her third year of B.A. English Literature at Lady Doak College, Madurai and her younger daughter, Anu Iswarya, is studying in Standard - I at MRR MAVMM School, Madurai. The younger daughter has also been undergoing medical treatment at Hannah Joseph Hospital, Madurai, for facial and dental issues. Furthermore, the petitioner's aged in-laws reside with her and require regular support and assistance.

In the light of the above compelling personal and medical circumstances, the petitioner submitted a transfer request from Pudukkottai District Revenue Unit to Madurai District Revenue Unit on 27.11.2020. An order was subsequently passed by the first respondent in Na.Ka.A3/23583/2020, dated 05.02.2022, in connection with the said transfer, which was communicated to both the third respondent and the petitioner. Despite this, no further action has been taken. A follow-up representation was submitted on 05.06.2025, reiterating her request for transfer. The petitioner, therefore, seeks a direction to the respondents to consider and effect her transfer from the Pudukkottai District Revenue Unit to the Madurai District Revenue Unit on compassionate grounds, in view of her family and medical obligations.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner had submitted a request for transfer from Pudukkottai District Revenue Unit to Madurai District Revenue Unit on 27.11.2020. Pursuant to the said request, the first respondent passed an order in Na.Ka.A3/23583/2020, dated 05.02.2022, which was duly communicated to both the third respondent and the petitioner. It is further submitted that the third respondent is required to pass appropriate consequential orders in the matter, following which, the first respondent will issue the final orders regarding the petitioner's transfer.

In view of the submissions made by the learned Special Government Pleader, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's request for transfer from Pudukkottai District Revenue Unit to Madurai District Revenue Unit, in the light of the proceedings of the first respondent in Na.Ka.A3/23583/2020, dated 05.02.2022 and pass appropriate orders within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
