Respondent PRAYER: The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent herein to forthwith issue the computerized patta in favour of petitioner property comprised in Re-Survey Nos. 375/4 and 372/1 situated at P. Thuraichamypuram Village, Oddapadaram Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on the basis of petitioner representation dated 20.02.2017 within the time stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent herein to forthwith issue the computerized patta in favour of petitioner property comprised in Re-Survey Nos. 375/4 and 372/1 situated at P. Thuraichamypuram Village, Oddapadaram Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on the basis of petitioner representation dated 20.02.2017 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent.

3. According to the petitioner, he has been residing in the address given in the writ petition and he has purchased the land comprised in Re-Survey Nos. 375/4 and 372/1 situated at P. Thuraichamypuram Village, Oddapadaram Taluk, Thoothukudi District, from one lawful owner namely one Mottayyasamy by a registered sale deed dated 04.01.2017 to an extent of 6 acres. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4.After purchase of the land, the petitioner has been paying all taxes due to the authorities. At that stage, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 17.02.2017 for grant of patta in respect of the said land and paid necessary fee and enclosed all relevant documents in support of his claim. However, according to the petitioner, no action has beee taken on the representation and patta has not been issued as on date. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

5. Considering the limited scope of prayer in this writ petition, it would suffice to issue a direction to the respondent to dispose of the representation said to have been made by the petitioner on 17.02.2017 to the respondent and pass order on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
