PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to issue direction directing the 3rd respondent to provide Police Protection to life and limb of the petitioner from the Respondents 4 to 6 and their henchmen. For Petitioner :Mr.R.Murugappan For Respondent :Mr.M.Vaikkam Karunanithi Government Advocate (Crl. Side) O RDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the third respondent to provide police protection.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is facing life threat at the hands of the respondents. Hence he has made a representation to the respondents dated 14.06.2023 seeking police protection to his life and limb.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) would submit that on verification of the whereabouts of the petitioner, it is found that he is not residing in the address mentioned by him either in the representation or in the petition. 2/4

4. Let the petitioner appear before the respondent police within a week and the counter parties should also be summoned. After ascertaining whether there is any life threat for the petitioner at the hands of the respondent, the petitioner's representation may be disposed of on its own merits within a period of 15 days from the date of appearance of the parties.
