ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.KIRUBAKARAN,J) This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 12.10.2020 and 02.11.2020 and consequently direct the respondents to consider the petitioner and the similar students who studied twelfth standard (+2) in State Government Schools, during the academic year 2019-2020 in the event that any seat under 7.5% quota provided under the Special Act viz., "Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Indian Medicine and Homeopathy on preferential basis to students of Government Schools Act, 2020" (Tamil Nadu Act No.34 of 2020), remains vacant.

The petitioner would submit that the petitioner studied upto 11th standard in a Private Matriculation School and thereafter, she studied +2 in a Government Higher Secondary School and therefore, the petitioner gave the representations, dated 12.10.2020 and 02.11.2020 seeking the benefit under 7.5% quota provided under the Special Act viz., "Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Indian Medicine and Homeopathy on preferential basis to students of Government Schools Act, 2020" (Tamil Nadu Act No.34 of 2020).

3. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General assisted by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

From the very admission made by the petitioner that she studied upto 11th standard in a Private Matriculation School, it is very clear that the petitioner is not entitled to get the benefit under 7.5% quota provided under the Special Act viz., "Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Indian Medicine and Homeopathy on preferential basis to students of Government Schools Act, 2020" (Tamil Nadu Act No.34 of 2020). Hence, this Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, the same is dismissed. No costs.
