PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give adequate police protection for peaceful possession and enjoyment of the patta land admeasuring an extent of 15 cents in Survey No.153/4A3, 153/4B1 Ottankadu Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dated 03.11.2020. O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give adequate police protection for peaceful possession and enjoyment of the patta land admeasuring an extent of 15 cents in Survey No.153/4A3, 153/4B1 Ottankadu Village, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dated 03.11.2020.

2. The petitioner states that she is a widow and working as home-maid and her husband is in possession of the above said property. After his demise, she is possession of the above said property and obtained Patta No.1624. While being so, the third respondent and his father are unnecessarily creating problem for occupying the property and threatened her. Hence, the petitioner has given a representation dated 03.11.2020 to the respondents 1 and

2. So far, no action has been taken by the respondent police. Hence, the present petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that based on the complaint of the petitioner, dated 03.11.2020, enquiry is pending in CSR.No.269 of 2020. He would further submit that the petitioner has not co-operated for the enquiry and she went to Chennai and stayed there.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is ready to co-operate with the enquiry. 5.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 and 2.

6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 03.11.2020, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and give police protection to the petitioner, if necessary. If it is found that police protection is not necessary, the same shall be communicated to the petitioner so that she can work out her rights in the manner known to law.

7.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
