ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the second respondent herein dated 05.05.2026, wherein, the request of the petitioner for granting permission and police protection for conducting Adal Padal programme on 27.05.2026 has been rejected.

2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that no reasons have been assigned for rejection of the said request. In view of the fact that no reasons have been assigned for rejecting the request for conducting Adal Padal programme, the impugned order is set aside to the said extent.

3. In view of the abovesaid facts, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to grant permission and police protection for Adal Padal programme to be conducted on 27.05.2026 in connection with "Pongal Vizha" of Arulmigu Sri Kaliamman, Sri Mariamman Thirukovil, Vazhavanthalpuram, Sattur Taluk, 2/4

4. It is made clear that the function shall be completed before 10.00 PM on the said date. It is also made clear that the police authorities are entitled to interfere and stop the function, in case, if any obscene dances are being performed.

5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
