O R D E R

The present writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the 2nd respondent, wherein, the request of the petitioner to conduct Adal Padal Programme on 30.05.2026 and 31.05.2026.

2. A perusal of the impugned order reveals that the petitioner's request to conduct an Adal Padal Programme was rejected solely on the ground that, in the previous year, obscene dances were performed on the stage, thereby violating the orders of this Court dated 19.05.2022 passed in W.P.(MD) No. 10173 of 2022.

3. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, no such obscene dances were performed in the previous year, and the impugned order has been passed without any supporting material. He further submits that no obscene dances will be performed during the Adal Padal programme. 2/4

4. Considering the above facts, the impugned order is set aside, and the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation for conducting the Adal Padal Programme either on 30.05.2026 or 31.05.2026. Upon receipt of such representation, the 2nd respondent shall positively consider the same and may grant permission for any one of the said dates, with adequate police protection. The function shall be completed on or before 10:00 p.m. on the chosen date. The petitioner is further directed to strictly comply with the circular issued by the Director General of Police dated 09.04.2019. In case of any violation of the said circular, the respondent police are at liberty to intervene and stop the Adal Padal Programme.

5. With the above said directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
